Air temp at the 8:00 o’clock in the morning start time: 53 degrees Fahrenheit.
Pretty much perfect.
East Side Trail.
Cross over to West Side Trail.
All the way up to where no bikes can go.
Cross back over to Cold Spring.
Take the fire roads up and over to CA Riding and Hiking.
A long steady climb, is what it is.
More than a 1000 feet of elevation gain.
Feels not like that, though.
Cross-county riding through oaks and some pines and desert landscapes.
Autumn sure is nice.
Not hot.
Not cold.
The mid-morning light is crisp.
Got to get up and out early more often.
Changing seasons is welcomed.
Make way to Lucky 5.
A favorite stretch of trail segments.
Not another human in sight.
Out there, I eat.
Then I turn around and ride back.
Down Upper Green Valley and on down some more.
Jumper trail up and over and to the visitor center.
Cross over the hard road and go to where I started three hours prior.
Where exactly did you start?
