What was MTBeer and is now Paseando MTB finally received a housecleaning. A whirlwind of organizing swept through the site and now you can access the writings a lot easier. If you go the homepage, across the top you will see the following categories: PRBSoC, Breweries, People, Places, Fully Rigid, No Dabs, Archive, About.
Homepage is here: https://mtbeer.substack.com/
PRBSoC is Post Ride Beer Stream of Consciousness. I started it last year and am continuing it in 2025. Currently, there are 13 installments. PRBSoC is something akin to rantin’-n- ravin’ in the mountain biking internetosphere. Anything goes. You can find them at this link: https://mtbeer.substack.com/t/prbsoc
Next up are Breweries, People and Place. Over the years, I’ve featured various independent breweries and their beers. MTB Legends like Sue Haywood and Jeremiah Bishop appeared, as well as IMBA leaders past and present (Dave Wiens). Mountain bike magazine editors are there, too. Additionally, places to ride and trail beta is there under that tab.
Breweries access gate is here: https://mtbeer.substack.com/t/breweries

The next 2 were monthly columns that I wrote for four years. They are both dead in 2025. All of them are available to all readers/subscribers.
Fully Rigid was a monthly column about Mountain Biking Issues within the Mountain Biking Community. Four years of FR is here: https://mtbeer.substack.com/t/fully-rigid
No Dabs was a monthly column that celebrated our mountain biking community and lifestyle. Four years of ND is here: https://mtbeer.substack.com/t/no-dabs
The Archive has everything ever posted on this Substack site and the About page simply gives some insight on me and what I’m doing here. Also, when on the homepage, if you are using a laptop/larger screen, on the right side you’ll see a list of Most Popular posts. For a while now, MTB Legend Sue Haywood has been at the top. Hell, yeah!
At this point, if you’re still here and reading this, thank you. Thanks for the positive feedback and constructive criticism. I appreciate all of it. Thank you for supporting what I’m doing, which hopefully is providing a fun/thoughtful/sometimes rebel-rousing space that is not influenced by sponsors or corporate interests, aka, the industry. There’s no AI being used, either. I mean, I have a brain, so why not use it?
Going forward, all posts are available to all subscribers/readers. If you know people who might like receiving 5-6 emails/month about any/all things mountain biking related, share this with them. Better yet, share this on your social media, letting people know that subscribing is 100% free and that they only need an email address to subscribe.
If you want to financially support true independent journalism, thank you. As more of a thank you, for people who do financially support Paseando MTB, throughout the year you will receive at different times an email from me with information about how to get discounts from mountain biking businesses and from breweries. Those emails go out 4-5 times/year.
And there’s this: Land. Water. Adventure. Travel. People. This is my new Substack that is basically me moving a lot of my nearly 30 years of travel into what I think is an easier interface to work with, as a writer. It’s entirely free. I’ll also be adding new content this year. If you’re into global travel and adventure, then venture on over there and see what’s going on at the site:
Again, to support independent writing about mountain biking and indie beer, as well as receive discounts to MTB-related businesses and breweries, use this link below to get the $10.20/year subscription rate. Paseando MTB is sponsor and corporate free writing and photography. You’ll receive upwards of 75 newsletters in your email inbox throughout 2025, bringing it to about 14 cents for each email/musing/post:
