Annual Stowe Trail Pass Update

This post is mostly for the San Diego crowd, but since the Stowe Trail requires a permit to ride it, a permit that you get from the U.S. Marines, perhaps it would be of interest to other mountain bikers around the USA, with regard to access issues.
Okay, so here goes: I went to Miramar today to renew my permit. I printed out the forms that are online at this link —

At that link, if you click on Stowe Trail Permit Application, it opens up a new window with the form you need to fill out and take with you. However, that form is the wrong one. It’s been updated. So, don’t fill it out. When you get to the MCAS Miramar Visitor and Registration Center, they’ll give you the updated form, which has a July 2024 date on the upper right hand corner.
That’s pretty much it for the update this year.

Good info. The trail is getting a little gnarly for my 71 year old body. I've fallen a couple times but no big injuries. Once past the Goodman Ranch I enjoy the uphill on the even grade, where I turn around at the Sycamore Canyon parking lot for a nice hour plus workout. Being retired military, the Miramar Pass and ID office gave me my permit on the spot. Very nice of them. But it's already expired, so I've got to head back again, as it appears only good for one year.
