We all do it, but what do we do with ‘em afterwards? I’m talking about photos. Out on the trail we pull out our phones, possibly an actual camera, and snap photos of where we are and who we are with, capturing a moment in time. For the most part, the photos remain on our devices/machines, never making it to print and ending up in a frame.
Friends. Trails. Vistas.
Memories.
I know of a few people who do frame some of their ride photos and when I’ve seen them on the wall on the coffee table, I’ve thought: I should do that. A few photos here and there in my personal space in the house, not unlike other photos of other places/spaces in time that I have in that personal space, would be nice.
I’ve yet to do it, though.
Rarely do I scroll through and swipe at what is on my phone. Most of my photos stay in the archives. The archives are on a computer. I have some of them backed up, but what for? Gone are the photo book days. Flash drives are filled with memories that sit and collect dust on my desk.
I’m thinking it’s time to knock some of the dust off.
(Perhaps, tomorrow …)
I’ve had the same thoughts James. I love looking at photographs. Sitting behind the couch where I’m writing this are two boxes full of photos I’ve been meaning to scan. While I do want to put some of them up somewhere, I’d much rather have them on my phone/tablet than in some box. Having the ability to show/look at them any time and place is a plus.
I think I recognize at least one of those pictures;)
Mine stay buried on the laptop, but every once in a while I'll dig through and refresh the memories.
