Happenings These Days
Northwest Tune-up, Philly Steak, Sir Gawain
I’ve long wanted to get up to Bellingham to check out the riding scene there, but it’s not yet happened. Here’s a nice article on the efforts going on by many people/orgs that have come together to make it what it’s becoming known for:

If you haven’t heard, the Northwest Tune-up Bike and Music Festival is slated for July 10-12. If you’re in the region, get there.
Brice Shirbach, to me, is a PA rider. I’m not sure if he’s born-and-raised, but he’s done a lot of riding and writing and filming of the PA mountain biking scene. I’ve been following along with his work for years. He’s a Pivot Cycles athlete these days and here’s his more recent Underexposed episode on Tempe, AZ.
Speaking of PA, I was there last week for family needs/events. While on a side trip to Philly, I managed to eat local, next to famed Wissahickon, in a local context. It was where I rode the most during grad school years, that leafy green park in the city providing much needed respites from the books.
Oh, almost forgot, local food on this trip …
Local drink …
If you’re ever in the City of Brotherly Love, and if you have your bike, ride Wiss, get a steak (no Whiz) and check out Wissahickon Brewing Company.
And, to close, this is good fun:
