4 short films to feed the stoke, as they say, or some say, anyway:
Born From Junk
Another film providing historical insight into mountain biking, with a little creative energy added here and there. Crested Butte—gotta get back there soon than later.
North Shore Betty
A new film from Patagonia celebrating a life still being fully lived. So much inspiration here. Thanks, Betty.
Lost on Purpose
I got up to the Lost Sierra in 2015 and was all set up to get back a second time, but the fires roared through that summer. A lot of goodness here, especially around the 7 minute mark when Kathy Pruitt talks about: pack 3 tubes … sandwiches … it’s summertime … we have all day. I could feel that spirit.
I couldn’t feel it, though, near the end when the energy shifted towards cities and people living in cities needing some kind of saving. Ugh, well, there are many great things about cities and living in cities, including: human diversity, food diversity, museums, plays/shows/dance, universities, etc. Why the divisiveness?
During the Peace Corps days, I passed through Antigua and met the nascent crew at Old Town Outfitters. That was in 1999. Super happy to see they’re still doing what they do in the magical land of the Maya people.
