One of my favorite places to get away: Kernville. Get on up along the river and up higher where the big trees grow and I feel fine. Not sure if The Plunge is as great as hyped, but I do think the bonus up top and then everything going down before the plunge is well worth it.
Portuguese Pass and the JO area, with the little kick in the ass loop along the road is more my kind of riding. Can’t remember the name of that little loop. Oh well!
Winter beers. They come in many styles and flavors, the whole idea basically meaning … another way to market beer! Cynical?! Maybe so. I guess there is something to the longer nights and cold weather and increased ABV to keep you warm, although that is pretty much scientifically incorrect!
Nearby Keyesville Classic terrain, as well. Tech and chunk and that snake pit section. I gotta get back up there soon. Been too long.
Plus the brewery and river camping. Camp Nelson downhill. Shuttle Bob! RIP, Bob!
Citra. Got my hands on it again this year. Yep, excellent like every other time.
No need to scribble more. Two kicks in the head and it’ll be time for back yard sitting in the hammock and watching day turn to night.
Kernville 2024. Gotta make that happen.
