A reader sent this article my way and I thought it might interest MTBeer readers, as it relates to human activities (including mountain bikers) in the wilds and our impacts on wildlife in those spaces:
When the woods get noisy, the animals get nervous — High Country News – Know the West (hcn.org)
In case you missed it, there was a report that came out a while back on the bike boom during the pandemic. Bicycling sums it up well:

Another reader who goes by the name of Shark sent this photo, a nod to my Fully Rigid column here on MTBeer:

From that fine family brewery in Alpine, CA that goes by its last name and has complete ownership of its beer, this offering was downright delicious as a long-sit:
Lighter beers go great with hot days and Trumer Pils brewed on this side of the pond in Berkeley, CA never disappoints. Did you know it’s the winningest pilsner/most beer awards in the world?
My award-winning column in Adventure Sports Journal is still going strong. The latest installment is about volunteering at SDMBA’s Arch Ride and Gravity Heights. Check it out here:

The last random piece to this hot day/week/summer post is a collaboration beer from two breweries I am particularly fond of: Kern River Brewing Company and Pure Project. They both seem to be doing what they can from a enviro/sustainability viewpoint and the people behind the cans are about all things outdoors and being responsible and respectful while playing outside.
Happy Summer, everyone!
I spy a vintage Dirt Rag pint! Long live the Rag!
