We’re moving into the season of slowing down, late fall into winter being a favorite time of year for many of us. Books and movies/documentaries take a more prominent role as the light wanes and the temperatures drop. Living in San Diego, we still get to ride during this time. Also, desert season is nearly here, 2-wheeled wanderings in the always beautiful Anza-Borrego Desert being a welcomed change when pedaling a bike across the land.
In between or in the meantime, for when you’re not riding, here’s a little of what I’ve been reading and watching of late:
A new Impossible Route in Texas. Did they bite off more than they can chew this time?
So darn beautiful and so crazy (to ride those lines takes super rare skills):
Fun to watch and you get tips/pointers on how to ride like that (!) … from Moab:
Intermountain Connectors project sets things up so you can ride forever, basically, around the Western USA and up into Canada: https://www.adventure-journal.com/2022/05/americas-two-best-bikepacking-routes-just-got-better/
Wait, what … a hunting non-profit organization put a bounty on mountain bikers? From Boulder and Nederland, CO: https://www.outsideonline.com/outdoor-adventure/biking/why-did-a-hunting-non-profit-put-a-bounty-on-mountain-bikers/
Beers of late … anything put out by Kern River and Russian River is pretty much gold, in my book:
And one of my newer favorites here in San Diego … been in the fridge a lot over the past year:
Cheers, everyone!
