What is the saying, follow the money?

There is way too much $$ in the E bike industry, that is the main reason they are slowly being allowed in more and more places.

Sounds about right, Jeff. Might some of the MTB community be "selling out" to the e-bikes industry, might be the next question ... ??? Is it technological progression ... ???

E-bikes aren't going away. I'm an old dude. Mountain bike purity demands we challenge ourselves on the climbs right? I dunno, I see folks on E-bikes here getting out on the trails and getting stoked. I'm for that.

Agreed not going away and that's okay. Agreed on the stoke. This is about lack of policy enforcement and what seems like a turning of the heads.

The manufacturers want it. ATVs are illegal everywhere in NJ, yet our trails are rutted out by them all the time. I’m quitting the Outdoor Club of South Jersey because the leaders ride e-bikes on trails that are marked no e-bikes, and complaints are ignored. You want to lead e-bike rides, call them e-bike rides. Don’t use pedal assist and then complain pedalers are too slow to keep up.

Really sorry to hear about your situation, Thomas. And, it's another example of the state of trail access these days. Hang in there.

Do you just skim these postings?!!!?

It's not about ebikes, it's about policy and lack of enforcement, currently, by land managers and open defiance by those who know, some of those people being in leadership positions. This is different than poaching trails in the 80s and 90s.

Signed, Ken/Chad/Terry (as the kids might say!!!)
